Avon Fire and Police Departments Respond to Fatal Industrial Accident on Bodwell Street
Avon, MA - On Tuesday, September 23, at approximately 2:56 p.m., the Avon Fire Department, Avon Police Department, and mutual aid partners responded to a 911 call reporting an industrial accident involving a man with a head injury at a business located at 254 Bodwell Street in Avon.
Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male inside the facility suffering from fatal injuries. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Canton Fire Department’s Blood Transfusion Truck and a Stoughton Fire Department ambulance also responded to assist.
Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, along with representatives from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, are investigating the incident.
