The Alpha Volunteer Fire Company (AVFC) responded to 15 calls for service during the month of September while also staying active with training, community outreach, and preparation for upcoming events. Throughout the month of September, members participated in multiple training drills, including hydrant operations, monthly apparatus and equipment checks, and a walk-through of a new commercial construction site in town alongside Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. #1 (Station 75 Fire) and Stewartsville Volunteer Fire Company. AVFC members also attended the annual New Jersey State Firemen’s Convention in Wildwood.
A highlight for the department was the arrival of two new vehicles: 2025 Chevy Tahoe Chiefs Car and 2025 Ford F-350 Utility 82. Utility 82 was generously purchased by the John Dolak American Legion Post 446, a longtime supporter of the fire company. More details and photos of both vehicles will be shared once they are fully outfitted.
