Millbrook, NY - Firefighters from the Millbrook Fire Department mobilized Friday afternoon to establish an emergency helicopter landing zone in support of an air medical evacuation for an individual severely injured in a fall in Dutchess County.
At 12:40 p.m. on October 9, 2026, the Millbrook Fire Department received a mutual aid dispatch requesting a designated landing zone for the Stanford Fire Company, whose personnel were actively treating a patient who had fallen from a tree.
Millbrook responders deployed unit 49-13 to clear, secure, and manage the touchdown site, ensuring clear approach vectors and perimeter safety for arriving flight crews. The medical evacuation helicopter, Air2, landed safely at 1:02 p.m.
Emergency medical teams worked on scene to stabilize and prepare the patient for transport before Air2 lifted off at 1:53 p.m. en route to an area hospital for advanced clinical care. Following the helicopter's departure, Millbrook 49-13 cleared the landing zone and returned to service.
