Readsboro, Vt. — September 25 — On Thursday evening, Readsboro Fire Department unit 92-E2 was dispatched to the intersection of Route 8 and VT Route 100 for a report of a tree burning on power lines.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed a large branch had come into contact with high-voltage lines, sparking and igniting sections of the tree. Crews quickly secured the scene and established a safe perimeter while awaiting the arrival of Green Mountain Power (GMP) personnel.

Utility workers de-energized the affected line and removed the hazard, allowing firefighters to ensure the fire was completely out. The coordinated response prevented further spread and ensured safety for nearby traffic along the busy intersection.
