Middleburg, PA — September 23 — The Kreamer Fire Department, Station 120, responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Kreamer Avenue and Pennsylvania Route 522 around 4:33 p.m. The department received a direct call about the incident and sent the squad, tanker, special unit, and ambulance to the scene. When the squad arrived, they found a fire actively burning in the engine compartment of a small passenger car.
The company officer set up an attack line, and firefighters started working to put out the fire. The fire was under control within a few minutes, and about 350 gallons of water were used during the operation.
Once the main fire was extinguished, additional units helped the squad company with overhaul and cleanup.
These tasks allowed the crews to check the area for any remaining hot spots and handle any conditions caused by the fire.
The response was managed by Chief Moyer, Deputy Chief Dauberman, Captain Davies, Engineer L. Aucker, Firefighter Rathfon, and EMT Starks.
Vehicle fires can quickly spread from the engine compartment to other parts of the vehicle, which makes it essential for firefighters to quickly assess the situation and use the right equipment.
While working on roadways, they must also be careful about traffic dangers, leaking fluids, and other potential risks.
This incident showed how important it is to have a coordinated response, a fast fire attack, and thorough follow-up checks before clearing the scene.
