West Auburn, PA — September 14 — Rush Fire Department assisted Laceyville Goodwill Fire Company at a vehicle fire near the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 367 and Route 3004 in West Auburn.

Rush Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 3:32 a.m. to provide mutual aid. Dispatch information indicated that all occupants had exited the vehicle before emergency crews arrived.

Tanker 5 responded with two personnel to support firefighting operations. At the same time, a five-member crew remained at Station 1 in case another engine company was needed for the incident or an additional emergency call.

Upon arrival, Laceyville Engine 5 was already conducting fire suppression operations. Rush Tanker 5 supplied water to Engine 5, allowing firefighters to continue their work at the scene.

Fire crews operated for approximately one hour before clearing the incident. No additional information about injuries, the cause of the fire or damage was provided in the department's report.

The response demonstrated the value of mutual-aid agreements between neighboring fire departments. Tankers help provide water at incidents where a nearby hydrant or other water source may not be available, while station standby crews help maintain coverage for additional calls.
