Foster, RI - On Thursday, October 2nd, members of the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company took part in a joint training session with Foster EMS aimed at enhancing familiarity with equipment commonly used during emergency responses. During the session, participants received hands-on instruction in operating the stair chair, practicing how to safely move a person up and down stairs. Once proficient, members reviewed the operation of the stretcher and practiced removing and reloading it into the rescue vehicle. The training also included an overview of the location and use of additional equipment that may be needed during a call, ensuring firefighters are prepared to assist efficiently when specific items are required from the rescue unit.
