Baltic, October 7 — CT: Members of Baltic Fire Engine Co. #1 presented the department's yearly fire prevention program at the Hanover daycare center and the town's two elementary/middle schools on Tuesday. Basic fire safety knowledge and instructions regarding what to do in the event of a home fire were the main topics of the sessions. In order to learn about smoke alarms, escape plans, and safe fire safety procedures, educators and students convened in classrooms and assembly areas. Since small, commonplace objects can occasionally ignite fires, attention was focused on the growing problem of lithium-ion batteries, which the National Fire Protection Association selected for this year's fire prevention campaign.
