Huntingdon Crews Knock Down House Fire, Limit Damage

Huntingdon, Pa. — September 18, 2026 — Several fire departments answered a call for a house fire in Huntingdon Borough following the 911 dispatch of Engine 65-5 around 11:05 a.m.
Soon after the first dispatch, responding crews were warned of potential entrapment. Huntingdon Borough Police arrived and reported a house fire that was still active, with smoke visible from the second floor. Everyone inside the residence was reported to have evacuated.
Engine 65-2 responded with six firefighters and was the first engine on scene. The crew extended an attack line to the second floor, where firefighters located a fire confined to a single bedroom that had spread into the hallway.
Truck 65 arrived with five firefighters stationed on the Alpha side of the building and initiated truck-company operations, such as roof ventilation, to assist crews working inside.
Rescue 10, Engine 10, and Engine 65-1 helped suppress the fire. After the fire was brought under control, the remaining crews focused on overhaul and searched for any potential spread of the fire.
According to Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue, the swift response and well-coordinated interior and truck operations helped minimize fire damage to the rest of the residence.
Fire companies from Huntingdon Borough and nearby areas took part in the assignment. The companies listed by Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue were 65, 10, 20, 1, 19, 4, 21, and 7. EMS units 500 and 100 also arrived on the scene.
