South Park, PA - Volunteer firefighters from the Broughton Volunteer Fire Department (Station 270) mobilized Tuesday evening to provide mutual aid extrication support following a motor vehicle collision at a major intersection in Allegheny County.
On October 6, 2026, Station 270 responded with Engine 270 and Rescue 270 to assist Baldwin Fire Rescue at the scene of a crash located at the intersection of Brownsville Road and Curry Hollow Road.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a damaged automobile with an occupant trapped inside the passenger compartment. Personnel from Engine 270 worked alongside Baldwin emergency teams, deploying specialized vehicle rescue tools to stabilize the vehicle, force open access points, and safely extricate the confined patient.
Following the successful extrication, the individual was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel for care and evaluation, after which units controlled fluid hazards and cleared the roadway.
