Elizabeth Borough, PA - Volunteer firefighters from the Elizabeth Borough Volunteer Fire Company (Station 139) responded Tuesday evening to provide emergency scene control and traffic management following a motor vehicle collision along Route 51 Southbound in Forward Township, Allegheny County.
On September 15, 2026, emergency dispatchers alerted Station 139 to a vehicle accident near the intersection of Route 51 Southbound and Tunnel Hollow Road. In response, Elizabeth Borough crews deployed both Rescue 139 and Engine 139 to assist at the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked alongside local responders to assess the involved vehicles for hazards, fluid leaks, and potential injuries. Station 139 personnel established perimeter safety zones and took charge of traffic control operations, safely diverting oncoming highway motorists around the damaged vehicles and active work area while recovery and cleanup efforts proceeded along the busy roadway.
Once the wreckage was cleared and the travel lanes were deemed safe, all Station 139 apparatus returned to quarters.
