— September 18, 2026 — Firefighters arrived around 5:20 a.m. Friday saw a structure fire on the 3600 block of Fremont Street in Wesleyville, which spread to nearby homes.

Wesleyville Hose Company was the first fire department on the scene, with Chief Jeremy Moreland reported as the initial chief to arrive and take command. As crews raced to safeguard nearby homes and bring the fire under control, it rapidly demanded more resources.

Kuhl Hose Fire Department answered the call as part of a mutual-aid agreement to offer rapid intervention team assistance. Kuhl Unit 683 arrived as the second responding unit and was subsequently reassigned to set up a water supply. The crew connected to a hydrant and provided water to Wesleyville's Engine 302. Once the water-supply task was finished, Kuhl firefighters laid out a handline and helped crews put out the fire. Kuhl's Rehab 68 also provided rehabilitation and support for the multiple companies active at the scene.
