Seneca Castle Firefighters Responded to Second-Alarm Structure Fire

Seneca Castle, N.Y. — September 7 — The Seneca Castle Fire Company responded to a structure fire on Ferguson Road around 7:09 p.m. on September 7. Multiple fire departments and support agencies were called to the scene.
Seneca Castle initially dispatched with the Hopewell and Stanley fire departments, along with Mercy Flight EMS-Finger Lakes Ambulance. The first chief on arrival reported a working fire and requested a second alarm and a tanker task force.
The second alarm brought in the Geneva, Clifton Springs, and Oaks Corners fire departments. Phelps and Gorham fire departments also joined as part of the tanker task force, providing extra water resources for the operation.
The Ontario County Emergency Management Office, Ontario County Sheriff's Department, Ontario County 911 Center, Town of Seneca Water Department, and Code Enforcement also assisted. An excavator was brought to the scene to support fireground operations.
Outside reports confirmed that one person escaped the home safely and several animals were rescued, while some individuals were still unaccounted for. The Seneca Castle Fire Company was a volunteer department located at 2028 County Road 4.
