Strawpump Crews Responded to Residential Electrical Fire

North Huntingdon, PA. — September 16 — Firefighters from the Strawpump Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported electrical fire at a residence in North Huntingdon Township.


Upon receiving the call, crews were sent to the home to investigate the situation.

The firefighters worked to identify the source of the fire and manage the conditions while inspecting the area for any other potential dangers.


During the operation, the firefighters had to enter the home to ensure the scene was secure.

Electrical fires can be particularly hazardous because damaged wiring and active electrical equipment can still pose risks even after the visible flames have been extinguished.


The Strawpump Volunteer Fire Department is based at 130 N.

Thompson Lane in North Huntingdon.According to the North Huntingdon Township fire department directory, the department is identified as Station 2 and operates several units, including Engine 2, Attack 2, Rescue 2, Service 2, and Squad 2.


The department is one of seven volunteer fire departments that provide fire protection services within North Huntingdon Township.


After addressing the reported incident and ensuring the area was free of remaining hazards, the firefighters completed their duties.
