Delta, PA. — September 7 — Engine 57, Rescue 57, and Brush 57 responded to a vehicle fire located in the 300 block of Cooper Road in Peach Bottom Township. The response was managed by Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company, Station 57, which is based at 500 Main Street in Delta.
When Engine 57 arrived, they found a pickup truck that was completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters started suppression efforts while dealing with a challenging access problem that impacted their ability to respond effectively.
The apparatus was unable to use the bridge because the vehicles exceeded the bridge's posted weight limit. As an alternative, firefighters accessed the scene through the Susquehanna Peach Orchard property, which allowed them to reach the vehicle and begin their operations.
The response involved Engine 57, Rescue 57, and Brush 57, providing a mix of suppression, rescue, and off-road capabilities for the incident.
According to York County's public resource information, Delta-Cardiff is identified as Fire Station 57, and Engine 57, Rescue 57, and Brush 57 are among the company's assigned apparatus.
The vehicle fire was managed without using the restricted bridge, and crews operated safely from the alternate access point.
No details regarding injuries, the cause of the fire, or property damage were provided in the information reviewed.
