South Park, PA - Emergency units from three volunteer fire stations converged on Duchess Lane late Sunday evening following reports of an active residential structure fire within South Park Township.

On October 4, 2026, emergency dispatchers alerted Broughton Volunteer Fire Department (Station 270) along with mutual aid companies from Station 271 and Station 232 to an initial report of a working house fire in Allegheny County.

Station 270's Deputy Chief arrived first on location and established command, determining upon initial size-up that an electrical fire inside the residence had already been extinguished prior to the arrival of primary apparatus.

Crews from Truck 270 entered the home to conduct a thorough interior investigation, using thermal imaging and hand tools to inspect walls, wiring paths, and adjacent spaces to verify that heat and flames had not migrated into structural components.

Once firefighters confirmed zero extension throughout the residence and ensured atmospheric conditions remained safe, the incident scene was turned over to the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office, which has initiated an investigation to determine the origin and ignition source of the electrical failure.
