South Park, PA - Emergency responders from multiple volunteer fire companies mobilized Thursday evening to execute an off-road rescue along Pineyfork Road in South Park Township after a vehicle left the roadway and traversed down a steep hillside.

On October 1, 2026, emergency dispatchers alerted Broughton Volunteer Fire Department (Station 270) alongside mutual aid partners from Station 271 to a reported motor vehicle collision with possible occupant entrapment in Allegheny County.

Arriving on scene, fire and rescue crews located the damaged automobile resting off the roadway along the embankment. Firefighters stabilized the perimeter and made their way down the grade to access the passenger compartment, safely guiding and extricating the occupant from the vehicle before assisting them back up the hillside to the roadway.

Emergency medical services evaluated the driver on location and transported them to a regional hospital for further examination and medical treatment. Following the rescue operation, fire personnel remained on scene to control hazards and support recovery efforts while local police officers launched an investigation into the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash.
