Smoldering Toaster Prompts Building Fire Response in Brookhaven

— September 16, 2026 — On Wednesday, firefighters in Brookhaven Borough responded to a building fire following a report of smoke at the front door of the structure. 


Brookhaven Fire Company, known as Company 52, was listed as the first-responding department in the incident report. Chief 52 arrived just before Aston Township Fire Department’s Tac 17, which responded as a mutual-aid unit. 


Tac 17 was the first Aston Township engine to arrive. The crews looked into the smoke and discovered a toaster smoldering inside the building. 


Command swiftly brought the incident under control. Aston Township Fire Department also dispatched Truck 17, designated as a TDT, and Engine 17. The response was one of four fire calls handled by Aston Township Fire Department that day. The department also reported that its EMS division handled 13 emergencies.
