Early-Morning Barn Fire Brings Heavy Mutual Aid Response

— September 10, 2026 — On Thursday, firefighters from various departments across Crawford County responded to a major barn fire in a structure said to be about 40 by 120 feet in size. 


According to the available reports, the Blooming Valley Volunteer Fire Department was the first responding department. Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department dispatched Tanker 3-5 to the scene to help with firefighting and water supply efforts. 


Cambridge Springs reported that Tanker 3-5 was active at the barn fire, helping Blooming Valley firefighters. The department also expressed gratitude to the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department for being on standby to offer coverage while Cambridge Springs crews were focused on the incident. 


The response included additional departments from across the area. Based on the department information provided, assisting agencies included Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Saegertown Fire Department, Venango Volunteer Fire Department 25, West Mead #2 Volunteer Fire Department, Townville VFD & Ambulance Service, Randolph Volunteer Fire Department 18 and Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department.
