Driver Escapes Serious Harm After Commercial Truck Hits Tree on Boal Avenue

Boalsburg, PA - Emergency responders were dispatched early Friday morning following a serious commercial vehicle accident on Boal Avenue, where a produce truck crashed into a tree, triggering alarming initial reports before the driver was confirmed to have escaped major injury.

At 5:10 a.m. on September 11, 2026, emergency dispatchers transmitted Box 356, alerting the Boalsburg Fire Company to the 2300 block of Boal Avenue in Harris Township for a motor vehicle collision with unknown injuries involving a commercial box truck carrying produce that struck a tree. While en route, Chief 3-2 (Garis) received grim updates indicating severe injuries or a potential fatality at the scene.

Upon arrival, Chief 3-2 found a far more fortunate outcome: the driver was already being assisted out of the cab, alert and reporting no major injuries. Out of an abundance of caution, paramedics from Centre Lifelink EMS evaluated the operator on scene and transported him to a regional hospital for a complete medical checkup.

Rescue 3 arrived to secure the damaged vehicle, inspecting the cab, cargo bay, and mechanical systems for fuel leaks, electrical shorts, or cargo hazards.
