September 21, West Burke, Vt: The West Burke Fire Department was called to a fully involved structure fire on a property with a nearby residence at around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday night. Quick action by the first-arriving crew put out the fire before it could reach the house. Since East Burke Fire Brigade's automatic assistance was already on its way, West Burke asked the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department for more water supply. No residents or firefighters were hurt, and the fire was contained to a single shed/shop on the property. The department also thanked St. Johnsbury Emergency Dispatch for their coordination during the incident and Lyndon Rescue Inc. for providing fire standby support.
