Pittsburgh, PA. — September 18 — Bauerstown VFD crews were called to a motor vehicle crash on Friday night, which resulted in one person being trapped inside an overturned car.

Around 10:30 p.m., Bauerstown VFD and other responding agencies were sent to the scene after a crash was reported, though the extent of injuries was initially unknown.

As the crews were on their way, additional details came in indicating that a vehicle had rolled onto its side and one person was still inside.

Once on scene, the first-arriving chief took command. Firefighters started stabilizing the vehicle to ensure it did not move further during the rescue operation. More rescue personnel arrived to help with the stabilization and provided lighting for the operation.

The patient was then handed over to Ross/West View EMS for medical evaluation and treatment.

Firefighters remained at the scene while the vehicle was carefully returned to an upright position and placed on a tow truck.

The operation involved close coordination between the fire and rescue teams.

This incident emphasized the need for proper vehicle stabilization, controlled access, and teamwork during extrication efforts involving overturned vehicles.
