Fire Prevention and Safety Take Center Stage at Newington Open House

Newington, Conn. — October 1 — The Newington Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) will host its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety,” focuses on lithium-ion battery safety, highlighting best practices to prevent battery-related fires. Visitors can tour the station, see apparatus and equipment up close, and meet local firefighters.
The event is designed to educate families about fire safety while strengthening community ties.
