South Windsor, Conn. — September 11 — On Thursday, the South Windsor Fire Department (SWFD) paused to honor the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001. Firefighters reflected on the sacrifices of the 343 FDNY firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and thousands of civilians who perished that day, as well as the first responders whose lives were forever changed.
With the community’s ongoing support, SWFD reaffirmed its commitment to service, carrying forward the legacy of those who answered the call.
