South Hero, VT - On 17 September 2025 training marked part two of the department’s extrication and stabilization refresher. Firefighters focused on developing their skills in creating an entry point and work space to render aid in the less commonly accessed area of a vehicle—the trunk.
During the exercise, they utilized tools including a K12 saw, a reciprocating saw, and the jaws of life to safely cut open the trunk and remove the vehicle’s seats.
Those interested in learning more about the department’s work are encouraged to visit the website to apply or stop by the station at 131 Community Lane on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.
