Topsham, VT - The department was toned for a motor vehicle crash with injuries and a car on fire on VT Route 25. First-arriving units discovered a single vehicle that had left the roadway and struck the trees, fully involved in fire, with flames spreading to the surrounding brush and trees. Fortunately, the driver and two additional occupants had already been extricated and were receiving care from bystanders.
The department extends its sincere thanks to the many community members who stopped to render aid. Their quick action supported both the patients and the emergency team as additional resources were en route. Gratitude is also expressed on behalf of the patients.
Acknowledgment and appreciation are also given to responding partners: CTERT, Corinth Fire Department, Barre Town Ambulance, and Barre Town Fire, which assisted with traffic control by closing Route 25 at Route 302.
