Amherst Fire Rescue provided staffing and apparatus to the community of Weare as they battled a large building fire.

Amherst crews covered Weare’s station during the incident, ensuring that emergency services in the town remained uninterrupted while local firefighters were committed to the fire scene.

The department emphasized the importance of mutual aid, a cornerstone of the fire service in which neighboring and regional communities share manpower and equipment during major incidents or when multiple calls overwhelm local resources.

“Mutual aid is huge in the fire service,” the department noted. “It ensures that no matter the scale of an incident, our communities are protected through teamwork and cooperation.”

The collaboration highlights the strong ties between area departments and their shared commitment to safeguarding residents across the region.
