One Trauma Alerted, Six Others Transported After Collision on West Silver Springs Boulevard

(OCALA, FL.) Sept. 30, 2022 – On Friday, September 30, at approximately 6:14 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue's Engine 1, Rescue 1, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer responded to a vehicle accident on West Silver Springs Boulevard and Northwest 30th Avenue.
Upon arrival, units found a two-vehicle collision involving a black pick-up truck with moderate front damage and a black compact SUV with heavy passenger side damage.
Two adults and three children were in the pick-up truck, and two adults were in the SUV. The passenger of the SUV needed extrication.
Crews secured the scene.
Tower 1 assisted Engine 1 in setting up for extrication while Rescue 1 assessed patient status.
Engine 1 and Tower 1 used cutters and spreaders to remove both doors on the passenger's side and the post in between. Once access to the passenger was gained, Rescue 1 prepared the passenger for transport.
The passenger of the SUV was trauma alerted to the hospital.
The driver of the SUV and all five pick-up truck occupants were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
