Ashaway Fire and Police Coordinate Swift Response to Vehicle Fire

Ashaway, R.I. — October 3 —The Ashaway Fire Department was called to a reported truck fire on Maxson Hill Road at approximately 1:00 p.m. As numerous calls regarding the fully involved vehicle fire that had spread into the surrounding woods were received by Westerly Dispatch, Car 403 reported seeing a column of smoke coming from North Stonington. Within ten minutes, crews had the fire under control. Within an hour, all equipment was back in service, and no injuries were reported. Until the car was taken out, the Hopkinton Police Department kept the area secure.
