Ashaway, R.I. — September 19 —The advantages and safety factors of helicopter patient transport were the subject of a joint training session between Lifestar members and the Ashaway Volunteer Fire Association. After a presentation on safety procedures and landing zone requirements, a live helicopter landing at the firehouse took place that evening. Firefighters were able to get a close-up look at the aircraft, talk to the flight crew, and learn a lot about medical air transport operations.
