East Litchfield, Conn. — October 3 —Along with Litchfield Fire Department crews operating Ladder 1 and Engine 4, East Litchfield firefighters in Engine 26 responded to a reported smoke condition in a building on East Litchfield Road Saturday evening. When firefighters inspected the chimney using meters, thermal cameras, and Ladder 1, they did not discover any hazards or unusual readings. All crews went back to work after the system was reset.
