September 2025 — This month, Harvard Fire-EMS partnered with residents at Bower’s Brook and Fox Glove Apartments to conduct fire drills aimed at strengthening safety awareness and preparedness in the community.

The exercises provided an important opportunity for seniors to practice evacuation procedures with the direct support of firefighters and EMTs. Crews guided residents step by step, ensuring everyone became more familiar with exit routes and response actions in the event of an emergency.

“These drills are not just about testing alarms — they’re about practicing safe responses,” the department said. “By working together with residents, we help build confidence, especially for those who may require extra assistance.”

Harvard Fire-EMS emphasized the importance of regular fire safety training, especially in senior living facilities, where mobility and accessibility can present unique challenges.
