Sept. 28, 2025 — Around the firehouse this past week, members of Sturbridge Firefighters Local 170 kept busy with a mix of education, training, and station maintenance.

Several firefighters are currently studying for the Paramedic program as well as promotional examinations, dedicating time to further their professional development. At the same time, crews tackled maintenance projects around the station, including installing an air line for Tower 1.

Regular equipment care was also a priority, with firefighters washing and waxing all the ground ladders to ensure they remain in top condition and ready for service.

The department emphasized that maintaining a balance of ongoing education, preventive maintenance, and operational readiness is central to providing reliable service to the community.
