HORNELLSVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 18, 2025 — The Arkport Fire Department handled two significant calls on Thursday, providing both medical assistance and emergency response to a serious motor vehicle accident.
At 7:23 a.m., Arkport firefighters were dispatched to assist Hornell Ambulance with a patient who had suffered a broken foot and an injury to the opposite knee, leaving them unable to walk. Medic 2, Car 2, and Car 201 responded to help lift and move the patient safely.
Later that morning, at 10:42 a.m., crews were dispatched to I-86 eastbound for a single-car rollover with injuries. Responders arrived to find that the lone occupant had been ejected from the vehicle. Engine 69, Rescue 38, and Car 2 managed the incident, while Hornell Ambulance treated the victim at the scene. The patient was then flown by LifeNet 7-7 helicopter to the hospital.
The North Hornell Volunteer Fire Department also assisted, providing traffic control and closing parts of the on-ramps to ensure safety while LifeNet was on the ground.
