Arkport Fire Department Responds to Calls, Supports Community Events

The Arkport Fire Department had a busy stretch at the end of the week, answering calls while also supporting school and community events.
On Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9:43 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at 35 East Ave., Arkport Central School. Maintenance staff reported that a ball had accidentally struck a pull station. All units were canceled within three minutes of dispatch.
That evening, the department provided community service at Wolf Fest, putting Engine 43 and Rescue 38 in the parade, while Medic 2 and Brush 16 handled traffic control on Main Street. Crews also provided coverage during the Arkport Central School District homecoming bonfire, with Engine 43 and Brush 16 standing by and extinguishing the fire at the end of the event.
On Friday, Oct. 3 at 2:22 p.m., Arkport Fire was dispatched for an ambulance assist with Hornell City Ambulance in the Village for a diabetic emergency. Medic 2 handled the call.
