Medford, N.J. — September 5 — Union Fire Company No.1 firefighters responded shortly after midnight to a motor vehicle accident on Tuckerton Road.The incident involved a vehicle that had rolled over, with an occupant trapped inside.
Deputy Chief 2510, Engine 2511, and Rescue 2518 responded from Station 251 at 1 Firehouse Lane.When they arrived, the vehicle was already overturned, and the crew began stabilizing it and preparing to safely access the trapped person.Firefighters used the rescue tools available on their equipment to perform the extrication.
During the operation, they worked closely with EMS personnel to ensure the patient could be removed and receive continued medical care.The patient was then transported to Cooper University Hospital by Evesham Fire-Rescue for further treatment.Vehicle extrication remains a key part of fire-rescue operations, requiring teamwork to control the vehicle's movement and create a safe route for patient removal.
Union Fire Company No.1 was part of the Medford Township emergency response system and operated from Station 251.The company provided fire suppression, rescue, and emergency response services to Medford Township and coordinated with neighboring agencies through mutual aid when additional resources were needed.
