Medford Lakes, N.J. — September 28 — Members of the Medford Lakes Fire Department responded to a fire at a commercial building in nearby Medford Township on September 28. The fire department, based at 10 Stokes Road in Medford Lakes, was one of the emergency services involved in handling the situation.
The fire was reported around 6:57 p.m. at Laboratory Disposable Products on Evesboro-Medford Road. Medford Township fire and emergency medical services responded after a fire alarm was triggered and smoke was seen coming from the warehouse.
The facility stored medical chemicals, which led to the involvement of hazardous materials teams from Burlington County.
Officials stated that the exposure was contained within the warehouse and there was no immediate danger to the surrounding area. Environmental health experts and cleanup crews later worked to clean and decontaminate the building.
The Medford Lakes Fire Department, an all-volunteer organization established in 1965, continues to provide fire protection for the borough and also assists neighboring agencies when needed.Medford Lakes.
