Hampton Lakes Firefighters Handled Vehicle Fire on Route 70

Vincentown, N.J. — September 13 — Crews from the Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company responded to a vehicle fire reported on Route 70 near Drayton Lane. When Rescue/Engine 1723, Tanker/Engine 1726, and Special Services 1729 arrived, the vehicle was already fully involved in the fire.
Firefighters operated the equipment as part of the response and worked to control the fire.
The tanker/engine provided extra water supply, while the rescue/engine and special services unit assisted with the fireground operations.
The incident was handled by the Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company, which is located at 74 Holly Boulevard in Vincentown.
According to the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety records, the company is a volunteer fire department that serves Southampton Township.The 2026 state directory listed 26 volunteer firefighters, five company officers, and three chief officers.
Hampton Lakes crews have previously responded to incidents on Route 70, such as a multi-vehicle crash in August, where department units worked alongside mutual-aid agencies and EMS personnel.
The September 13 incident added another roadway emergency to the department’s operations. Firefighters completed their suppression and scene duties before returning the equipment to service.
