Essex Firefighters Respond to Third Outdoor Fire in 24 Hours

Essex, CT - Essex Fire Engine Co. #1 was dispatched to a reported small brush fire in the Centerbrook district. Upon arrival, units discovered a pile of burning logs and garden timbers extending to a nearby fence and encroaching on a chicken coop. Members worked diligently to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further.


This marked the third reported outdoor fire within 24 hours. On Friday evening, members had extinguished a bonfire in the woods in Essex that had been left unattended by a group of individuals. Earlier on Saturday afternoon, another outdoor fire was investigated off South Main Street in Essex.
