Clinton, CT - The CVFD recently conducted destructive training on a donated residence. Opportunities of this kind are rare but provide invaluable experience for members. While training props are useful for honing skills, working on actual structures allows firefighters to simulate real incident conditions as closely as possible. Over the past week, members practiced VES skills, wall breaching, and vertical ventilation. The unique construction of the house also offered valuable lessons in building construction that are not typically encountered in modern structures.
