Sept. 16, 2025 — The Fairfield Regional Fire School is asking the community to support its training program by donating vehicles for use in firefighter recruit extrication exercises.
Real vehicles provide invaluable hands-on training, allowing firefighters in training to practice the techniques and tools needed to rescue people trapped in motor vehicle accidents. These real-world scenarios are a critical part of preparing recruits to save lives on the road.
The school noted that any vehicle in any condition is welcome, and that all donations are eligible for a book-value tax deduction. The Fire School also handles all towing and paperwork, making the process simple for donors.
“Your old car can make a life-saving difference in our community,” officials said.
For more information or to arrange a donation, contact the Fairfield Regional Fire School at (203) 254-4708 or frfs@fairfieldct.org.
