Sept. 24, 2025 — It was a busy day for Botsford Fire Rescue on Wednesday, with crews responding to three separate incidents on the south side of town.

The day began at 6:08 a.m. with a fire alarm activation, which turned out to be a false alarm. Later in the morning, at 9:10 a.m., crews assisted on an EMS call.

The most serious incident occurred at 4:03 p.m., when a motorist experienced a medical emergency while driving on South Main Street. The driver attempted to turn onto Pecks Lane but struck a utility pole, snapping it and causing the vehicle to roll over.

Newtown Police Department officers helped the driver and a pet safely exit the overturned vehicle. The driver was transported to Danbury Hospital with injuries related to both the crash and the underlying medical emergency. Fortunately, no extrication was required.

Botsford Fire Rescue thanked its partners for their assistance in ensuring the incident was managed safely and efficiently.
