Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 Responded to West Belt Alarm

Wayne, NJ — September 11 — Members of Community Volunteer Fire Company #1, Inc., located at 93-97 Parish Dr., Wayne, responded with P.O.L. Fire Company #2 to an activated fire alarm at a property on West Belt in Wayne Township. The firefighters arrived at the scene to check the alarm and determine if there was smoke, fire, or another issue. The crews were ready to quickly assess the situation, inspect the building, and take necessary steps depending on what they found at the scene.


Wayne Township's fire protection system consists of five volunteer fire companies.

Township information stated that the Fire Commissioner serves as the administrative contact between the five companies and the township government. Community Volunteer Fire Company #1 is part of Wayne's all-volunteer fire service. Township information confirmed that the local fire department depends on volunteer members to provide fire protection and emergency response for the community.


Fire alarm responses are a key part of the routine operations of the fire service.

The Wayne Township Fire Bureau also performs fire-code inspections and investigates complaints related to fire codes as part of its fire prevention duties.


The response to the West Belt alarm gave the participating companies another chance to collaborate while investigating the activated alarm and staying prepared for a potential emergency.
