Basement Fire Contained at Plante Road Residence in Caribou

Caribou, ME - The Caribou Fire & Ambulance Department responded to a report of smoke at a residence on 31 Plante Road. Upon arrival, crews observed smoke coming from the basement of the structure. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and successfully extinguished the fire before it could spread throughout the home.
No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the affected occupants. Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours, and the investigation was turned over to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
