Marmora, N.J. — September 28 — Marmora Volunteer Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle crash that involved a rollover and reported entrapment on the Garden State Parkway around 8:15 a.m. on Monday.
Ocean City Police Communications sent for assistance from Marmora Volunteer Fire Company, Seaville Fire and Rescue, Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company, and Upper Township Division of EMS to milepost 24.5 in the southbound direction.
The first responders arrived to find a single vehicle on its side in the wooded median area of the Parkway.
There were three people inside the vehicle. One person had already exited, another was sitting on the vehicle, and the third was still inside.
Firefighters immediately stabilized the vehicle to stop it from moving further while crews worked to help the occupants.
The firefighters assisted the remaining people out of the vehicle and transferred all three patients to waiting ambulances.
All three individuals were taken to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
The response involved coordination between fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel as crews worked in the wooded median near an active highway.
New Jersey State Police arrived at the scene and took charge of the investigation into the circumstances that caused the rollover. This incident again highlights the importance of vehicle stabilization and coordinated patient removal during highway crashes. Marmora Volunteer Fire Company is based at 40 N. Old Tuckahoe Road in Marmora.
