JEFFERSON, ME - On September 1st, Jefferson Fire & Rescue volunteers responded to reports of smoke on Hodgkins Hill Road. The source was traced to a tree struck by lightning during a storm, which had ignited a brush fire. Firefighters spent several hours at the scene, thoroughly wetting down the area to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
