This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Weston, C.T. — September 11 —In honor of the nearly 3,000 people who died on September 11, 2001, including 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority officers, the Weston Volunteer Fire Department paused on Thursday to commemorate the anniversary. The department’s tribute also acknowledged responders, survivors, and families who continue to carry the physical and emotional toll of that day. It was noted that the legacy of courage and sacrifice from that event remains a constant reminder of the risks faced by members of the emergency services.
