Two Vehicles Consumed in Heavy Garage Blaze That Sparked Second Alarm in Willingboro

Willingboro, NJ - Firefighters from Willingboro and neighboring mutual aid departments battled a fast-moving second-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon that heavily consumed two vehicles and threatened an entire residential structure.

At approximately 2:16 p.m. on September 22, 2026, Willingboro Fire Department’s B Shift was dispatched alongside mutual aid companies to reports of a working structure fire. Arriving units encountered heavy smoke and advancing flames that originated inside an attached garage, where two parked vehicles were already fully involved.

Driven by intense heat, the fire had rapidly extended upward into the home's attic space, prompting incident commanders to strike a second alarm for additional manpower and suppression resources.

Crews stretched multiple attack lines to establish a coordinated assault on the exterior garage fire while simultaneously advancing lines into the living quarters to cut off vertical and horizontal extension through the roof assembly.

Through cordinated ventilation and aggressive handline operations, firefighters brought the flames under control, preventing catstrophic structural loss to the remainder of the residence.

No injuries were reported, and overhaul operations were conducted to secure remaining hot spots.
