Firefighters Handle All-Hands Dwelling Fire in Deptford Township

Firefighters from Deptford Township and mutual-aid companies operated at an all-hands dwelling fire that heavily damaged a residence in the township's Oak Valley section.

Crews were dispatched at approximately 12:30 a.m. on September 19, 2026, to 575 Allegheny Road in Deptford Township, New Jersey. The two-story residence was heavily involved when firefighters arrived, according to local reporting. The occupants were away at the time of the fire.

As operations continued, Woodbury Fire Department Ladder 5 was special-called to the scene with a crew of three. The company arrived third due and operated as the first-due ladder, with personnel assigned to ventilation, primary and secondary searches, and fire suppression.

Two dogs and a cat were safely removed from the property by a neighbor, who was identified in local reporting as a police officer. No firefighter injuries were reported.

The fire was placed under control at approximately 12:52 a.m., about 22 minutes after the initial response. The residence sustained extensive damage and was described as destroyed following the incident.
