Ridgefield, N.J. — September 22, 2025 — On Monday evening, the Ridgefield Fire Department responded to a fire at a multi-family home on the 500 block of Grand Avenue.

RF-7 found no smoke outside but discovered heavy smoke on the second floor and attic, with reports of a child trapped.

Engine 2 laid a line, conducted a primary search — no one was trapped — and knocked down the fire in the walls between the second-floor kitchen and attic.

The fire was under control in 45 minutes. No injuries were reported. The home was declared uninhabitable, and residents were relocated. The Ridgefield Fire Prevention Bureau is investigating the cause.
